The Last Dissident in the Corporate Media
Fox News has just parted ways with the last great dissenter and antiwar voice in the mainstream media.

On Monday, it became official that Fox News and Tucker Carlson had agreed to part ways. As it stands, there appears to be no clear reasoning as to why Fox News let Carlson go. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox News said in a rather vague statement.
This much is clear: Tucker Carlson’s sudden departure from Fox News means he was the last legitimate dissident in the corporate media. No other figure in that establishment carried such a passionate zeal for uncovering the truth, whether it was in opposing the war machine, inquiring about the reality behind distorted historical events, or dissenting against the fascistic worldview of the covid regime.
Carlson, ever since he earned his spot anchoring one of the most important news shows on television back in 2016, has been one of the most consequential voices to ever take hold in the corporate media landscape. Few others have reached what Tucker has achieved in his time at Fox News, and few, if any, have attained his notoriety and popularity.
Tucker’s extraordinary accomplishment owes itself largely to the fact that he discussed topics and occurrences that others in his sphere routinely bypassed and ignored. To his listeners, he came off as a sincere individual who cared deeply about the problems facing America. And he never missed an opportunity to question the government and its motives behind the facade of politics. Additionally, he granted platforms to the most important individuals in the political world to present their thoughts on whatever subject matter was being discussed, whether he necessarily agreed with their opinions or not.
A broad range of individuals from all over the political spectrum appeared on his show, from hardcore conservatives to anti-establishment leftists: Hungary’s Victor Orban, former President Donald Trump, Glenn Greenwald, Jimmy Dore, Julian Assange’s family, Douglas Macgregor, Matt Taibbi, Tulsi Gabbard, and numerous others. No other program in the elitist media ever entertains such a concept as talking to the other side and attempting to obtain common ground. Tucker stood out in this regard.
When Carlson invited Jimmy Dore onto his show a few months ago, a rare and truthful message was broadcast to millions of people regarding the truth about our greatest enemy as Americans. "Your enemy is not China. Your enemy is not Russia. Your enemy is the Military Industrial Complex that has been fleecing this country,” Dore said.
Sadly, I believe it’s safe to say such a significant and essential message will never be heard again on Fox.
Carlson also ignited firestorms for being one of the only unapologetic antiwar voices in the media. Despite being a conservative Republican, he didn’t shy away at all from levying intense criticism directed at the GOP and Donald Trump’s foreign policy. As an example, Tucker was the leading conservative voice in questioning Trump’s bombing of Syria and warmongering with Iran.
As it turns out, Tucker was right to oppose Trump-ordered airstrikes on Syria due to the lack of evidence of Assad using chemical weapons against his own people - the pretext the Trump administration used to strike Damascus. Tucker was the most ardent in questioning the claims of Washington, and ultimately, he was proven right.
Regarding Iran, Carlson opposed Trump’s assassination of Iranian Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani and, reportedly, was the convincing voice in preventing Donald Trump from launching a full-blown war against Tehran. As the AP reported at the time:
Trump, who announced his decision not to retaliate against Iran’s missile strikes in a nationally televised address 14 hours later, told some close to him that he watched Carlson’s show, according to BuzzFeed News. He told confidants in recent days that Carlson’s strong advocacy not to escalate the situation in Iran played a role in his decision-making, two White House officials and Republicans close to the West Wing told The Associated Press on Thursday.
To Trump’s credit, he listened to the right people on that dangerous occasion. It is very possible that if it weren’t for Tucker, a war with Iran would’ve been certain in the early stages of 2020.
In addition to bashing the war machine, Tucker was the most vocal critic of the national security state - the CIA, FBI, NSA, and so on. He also questioned the mystery behind Jeffrey Epstein’s murder and was adamant in demanding justice for his many victims. Tucker stood behind Julian Assange on numerous occasions and never failed to call for his immediate release, happily inviting Julian’s wife, brother, and father onto his program multiple times.
Quite courageously, Carlson conducted investigations into the foremost mystery in American history: the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy. Arguably one of the most groundbreaking stories in the past year was a revelation from Tucker’s source on whether or not the CIA was ultimately involved in the killing. “The answer is yes. I believe they were involved. It’s a whole different country from what we thought it was. It’s all fake,” the source said in a stunning statement.
The stark contrast between Carlson and his fellow colleagues at Fox News has been uniquely noticeable. While Sean Hannity was sporting a CIA lapel pin every night, Tucker Carlson took to questioning the narrative spun by the regime. While Hannity was angrily suggesting that the U.S. military use force against Russian jets, Tucker took the lead in demanding peace talks to end the Ukraine war. While Hannity invited warmongers like Tom Cotton and Lindsey Graham onto his show, Tucker had brave voices on such as retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor and Glenn Greenwald to call for peace.
Without Carlson, Fox will likely revert back to being a primarily hawkish outlet determined to spread CIA and Pentagon war propaganda against Russia, China, and Iran without anyone there to push back and maintain any semblance of balance.
In the end, Fox News needed Tucker Carlson far more than he needed them. Fox News will lose massively as a result of Tucker’s departure, and frankly, they deserve it. To state the obvious, letting go of the number one news cable host isn’t a good business decision, and it certainly won’t sit well with your base. As for Tucker, he’s moving on to better things — this time unattached to the mainstream media establishment.
In many ways, Tucker Carlson was the last real dissident in the corporate media. Tucker was the best in that hemisphere, second to none. He was the most vocal critic of the powerful and their corruption. Truly, it took immense courage to stand alone amidst a sea of career liars and tell the truth to millions. For that, he deserves endless credit.
I will support Tucker in whatever adventure he chooses to partake in next. After all, he has earned the support of millions across the world with his fearless journalism.
What a good article Lafayette wrote. Yes I believe cable news is in decline. I always looked forward to watching Tucker Monday thru Friday, the rest of Fox News was rather boring. They would repeat themselves over and over all day long. Tucker always had things to say the rest were afraid to say or didn’t want to say. He will definitely be missed. I have not turned on Fox News since he was let go, and don’t plan to watch it. It’s too bad there are not many men left with guts to tell us the truth of what is going on this country and around the world!
Dan Bongino was also a true patriot who was fired
