Ukraine Will Collapse
Ukraine is on the verge of total collapse. The West must stop promoting the absurd myth of 'Ukrainian victory' and stop encouraging Ukrainians to die in a hopeless conflict.
If one takes a glimpse into how the mainstream media in the West portrays the war in Ukraine, one might obtain the sense that Russia has no hope for victory, is worn down, or is either depleted in resources — both militarily and economically. This is false. These deceptive portrayals of the war couldn’t be further from reality, and if anything, it’s quite the opposite.
The myth of “Ukrainian victory” perpetuated in the Western media is an outright falsehood and an absurdity. Ukraine is not winning, and they will not win the war. Thus far, Ukrainian casualties have consistently outpaced those of the Russians throughout the entirety of the war by large magnitudes. So far, it is estimated that there have been over 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in action, compared to much lower Russian numbers. To put it mildly, Russia is dominating the war and has been ever since Russia’s Special Military Operation (SMO) commenced on the 24th of February.
In spite of these horrific and devastating losses for Ukraine and its military, the mainstream press and the Pentagon continue to peddle the false notion of the ‘weakening’ of Russia and Putin and continue to incessantly stress the importance of supporting Ukraine and rejecting peace talks, no matter how much this policy is detrimental to the people of Ukraine and to the economies of America and Europe.
Ukraine is in deep trouble. They are experiencing reoccurring blackouts, trouble heating their homes, consistent Russian strikes on their energy and military infrastructure, and of course, the harsh cold of a fast-approaching winter. These combinations have negatively impacted their military’s ability to fight effectively. Russia’s war in Ukraine is bound to expand with major offensives to capitalize on the current troubles Ukraine is facing. In southern Ukraine, western Russia, and Belarus, Russia has amassed a whopping 540,000 combat forces ready to join the already hundreds of thousands of fighters on the ground.
Much of America does not understand the extent to which the war in Ukraine has been waged, or more specifically, how Russia has waged it thus far. Putin and his military leaders have put a strict emphasis on avoiding as many civilian casualties as possible while instead focusing the vast majority of their efforts on decimating and annihilating the armed forces of Ukraine. Needless to say, Ukraine has been utterly devastated by Russia’s operation. This is not to insinuate that there have been no civilian casualties in Ukraine; there have been many killed. But the narrative that Putin’s ‘evil’ armed forces have indiscriminately and purposely killed thousands of Ukrainian civilians is absurd propaganda that has no basis in reality.
The initial goals of the SMO, when Putin announced it in February, were significantly narrower than they are right now. It was never a full-scale invasion by any stretch of the imagination, but it might just turn into one. Retired Army Colonel and decorated combat veteran Douglas Macgregor, who has been a breath of fresh air in terms of telling the truth about the war in Ukraine ever since it began, details Putin’s aim with the Special Military Operation and the reasons why Putin chose to broaden the war:
The opening phase of the SMO was a limited operation with a narrow purpose and restricted goals. The critical point is that Moscow never intended to do more than persuade Kiev and Washington that Moscow would fight to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, as well as the further mistreatment of Russians in Ukraine. The SMO was, however, based on invalid assumptions and was terminated. As it turned out, the limited nature of the SMO achieved the opposite of the outcome that Moscow desired, conveying the impression of weakness, rather than strength.
After concluding that the underpinning assumptions regarding Washington’s readiness to negotiate and compromise were invalid, Putin directed the STAVKA to develop new operational plans with new goals: first, to crush the Ukrainian enemy; second, to remove any doubt in Washington and European capitols that Russia will establish victory on its own terms; and, third, to create a new territorial status quo commensurate with Russia’s national security needs.
The refusal of American and European governments to negotiate peace or terms with Putin, the never-ending billions in money and weapons packages sent to Ukraine, and the calls for regime change by Western governments, particularly the Biden administration — directed at Putin — have all pushed Putin into a corner into which he cannot reasonably stay put. If he gives up and loses a war on his own border, the current government of Russia would be finished, and he has realized this threatening conundrum. In essence, Russia, with reason, feels threatened by the West’s aggressive posture towards them and feels no choice but to broaden the war and finish what’s left of Ukraine’s armed forces.
The goal of weakening Putin and the Russian state has backfired on America and Europe and has achieved the opposite ends, as Russia’s military is building up in astronomical numbers, is stronger than ever before, and the Russian people, by and large, have united behind Putin. Ukraine, on the other hand, faces a dire, bleak, and hopeless future in its conflict with Russia.
The economic outlook of both Europe and America
America and Europe too face a dire future — both economically and militarily — in terms of relations with Russia. Europe is facing monumental economic challenges with soaring fuel costs, high energy bills, the rising cost of living, towering inflation, and people struggling to heat their homes. The public has grown quite discontented with Europe and NATO’s policy regarding the Ukraine war, as massive protests have been occurring for the past few months in France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, and others.
Due to the reliance on Russia’s energy and natural resources and the fact that the majority of Europe’s energy is imported — mainly from Russia — the provocative measures by Europe aimed at Putin’s government have been a blatantly unwise policy and have not ended well. Endless economic sanctions imposed on Russia’s economy by the West have mainly backfired and have, in fact, hurt the people of Europe more.
To no surprise, some European officials within the EU have had enough of following the American lead and have privately accused the Biden administration of profiting off the war while the economies of Europe suffer. The economic outlook for America is not too bright either. America’s sanctions on Russia have been largely ineffective as well and have damaged its own economy and that of Europe far more than the sanctions have damaged Russia’s. The absurdly ballooned debt of $30 trillion, the increasing rate at which China and Japan dump U.S. treasuries, high inflation, and high gas prices have only exacerbated the economic crisis America faces.
It may be too late to push for peace
Make no mistake; this entire war could have been avoided had the West minded its own business and not interfered in Ukraine. A simple guarantee of Ukrainian neutrality and no NATO membership could have subverted and prevented Putin’s war, and yet the Biden administration flat-out refused to converse diplomatically with the Kremlin to make a simple promise.
The ignorance and stubbornness of the West in terms of rejecting peace have not only been self-evident before the war but during the current conflagration as well. The infamous story of Boris Johnson, at the behest of America, traveling to Ukraine in the midst of a negotiated settlement between Russia and Ukraine to pressure Zelensky not to negotiate is all too fresh in memory.
Influential minds in the West have been poisoned with the narrative that any territorial concessions to Russia would be a gross and unforgivable act of “appeasement” on the level of Chamberlain’s pact with Hitler in 1938. This one-sided mindset prevents a peaceful resolution and is leading Ukraine down the path to utter annihilation.
Do the Western governments really care about the people of Ukraine? The short answer to that question is no. Adding to that, the West is utilizing Ukraine for a grander purpose. They are using Ukraine as temporary pawns in a much larger game to weaken and ultimately attempt to remove Putin from power — their premier goal in Ukraine.
The recent news story of the Pentagon giving Ukraine the green light to attack areas inside the Russian homeland with the weapon systems sold to them by America is a dangerous game to play with a nuclear power. The more support and weaponry that are poured into the conflict, the greater the threat of this war expanding into a much wider conflict within Europe that could bear a nuclear exchange between the world’s two most heavily armed nuclear powers.
Instead of perpetuating the myth of “Ukrainian victory,” which only encourages more Ukrainians to die in a hopeless endeavor, the West must choose detente and diplomacy and push Ukraine to the negotiating table with Russia. The lives of countless Ukrainian soldiers depend on it.
Sadly, Ukraine and its people are in for a hellish winter full of death, freezing, and destruction, and the West isn’t choosing peace anytime soon. The coming offensives will decimate and destroy a good number of what’s left of the Ukrainian armed forces and its infrastructure. The Ukrainian state will collapse if a different path isn’t chosen. Unfortunately, it may be too late for the West to push Ukraine to the negotiating table, and ultimately, the West will realize sooner or later that they should have never involved themselves in Ukraine in the first place.
I agree with just about everything said. I don’t look for any good outcome. We should never have gotten involved with this war. But we know all too well U.S. history involvements in wars that are none of our business. I always believe there is hope for change. However, this administration is also trying to change everything we hold dear in our homeland! Can we survive? I surely hope and pray we can!
