Yet Another Instance in Which the West Destroyed Peace in Ukraine
Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett revealed on Saturday that in the early days of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the West, led by the U.S., "blocked" his attempted peace efforts to end the war.

Roughly eight days after Russian President Vladimir Putin sent troops across the border into Ukraine as part of his “special military operation” (SMO) on February 24th, then-Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett traveled to Moscow on March 4th to hold talks with the Russian leader in an attempt to mediate potential peace talks between the two warring nations. Reuters reported at the time that “Israel, at the behest of Zelenskiy, has offered to mediate in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, though officials have previously played down expectations of any breakthrough.”
On Saturday, Bennett revealed much-needed information as to what exactly occurred behind the scenes when the former Israeli Prime Minister attempted to play the role of an intermediary between Russia and Ukraine.
Dave DeCamp of Antiwar.com reports:
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said in an interview posted to his YouTube channel on Saturday that the US and its Western allies “blocked” his efforts of mediating between Russia and Ukraine to bring an end to the war in its early days.
On March 4, 2022, Bennett traveled to Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin. In the interview, he detailed his mediation at the time between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which he said he coordinated with the US, France, Germany, and the UK.
Bennett said that both sides agreed to major concessions during his mediation effort.
Nevertheless, the West still resisted and “blocked” the efforts of Israel’s Bennett to negotiate a lasting peace in Ukraine, even though “both sides agreed to major concessions.” DeCamp elaborates further:
But ultimately, the Western leaders opposed Bennet’s efforts. “I’ll say this in the broad sense. I think there was a legitimate decision by the West to keep striking Putin and not [negotiate],” Bennett said.
When asked if the Western powers “blocked” the mediation efforts, Bennet said, “Basically, yes. They blocked it, and I thought they were wrong.”
The concessions on Russia’s side, Bennett elucidated, were the abandonment of its goal of “denazification” in Ukraine, which, according to Bennett, meant regime change in Kiev and the removal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Furthermore, Russia agreed to discard another goal in its war against Ukraine: disarmament and demilitarization of the Ukrainian state. On Ukraine’s side, Zelensky agreed to “renounce” a potential NATO membership, which Bennett said was the premier “reason” for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
As DeCamp notes, this lines up with what Axios reported in early March regarding the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia: “Putin’s proposal is difficult for Zelensky to accept but not as extreme as they anticipated. They said the proposal doesn’t include regime change in Kyiv and allows Ukraine to keep its sovereignty.”
“There are many Jews in Ukraine and Russia,” Bennett said to the interviewer regarding his motives in securing peace, “and as prime minister of the Jewish state, I have a responsibility.” That responsibility, though, was carelessly discarded by his Western overlords.
Bennett explained in the interview that he thought that “there was a legitimate decision by the West to keep striking Putin and not to negotiate.” “They broke off the negotiations, and then it seemed to me that they were wrong,” Bennett said.
As we have known for a while, peace between Russia and Ukraine did not come to fruition, in large part due to the many obstacles perpetrated by the collective West, which disparaged potential peace resolutions. The latest revelation brought forth by Bennett adds to the true notion that the West has actively discouraged diplomacy and peace between the two nations.

This discovery is by no means the first time it has been uncovered that NATO and the West destroyed a potential peaceful resolution in Ukraine. In early May of last year, weeks after Russian and Ukrainian officials met in Istanbul for peace talks and appeared to have reached an agreement, it was reported by a Ukrainian news outlet, Ukrainska Pravda, that then-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson traveled to Kyiv to pressure Zelensky not to negotiate with Putin and pushed for Ukraine to “press him” instead. “Even if Ukraine is ready to sign some agreements on guarantees with Putin,” Johnson said, “they [the West] are not."
Ultimately, any further diplomatic meetings came to a screeching halt after Johnson’s visit to Ukraine. Johnson, of course, was not acting alone or at his own discretion. Rather, at the behest of NATO and the Biden administration, Johnson traveled to Ukraine to prevent and discourage any future negotiations from occurring because, in the end, peace disrupts their unalterable plan in Ukraine. In essence, an end to the war disregards the true goal of the collective West: the weakening of Russia and the removal of Putin from power.
In early April of last year, the Washington Post noted that “for some in NATO, it’s better for the Ukrainians to keep fighting, and dying, than to achieve a peace that comes too early or at too high a cost to Kyiv and the rest of Europe.” Around the same time, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu reflected this position by saying that “there are those within the NATO member states that want the war to continue, let the war continue and Russia gets weaker. They don’t care much about the situation in Ukraine.”
The irascible attitude and disparagement of peace harbored by the collective West should outrage any moral individual and humanitarian who cares about alleviating the suffering of those involved in the war. Since the West destroyed any chance of peace in Ukraine, Ukrainians have suffered on a tremendous scale. Thus far in the conflict, well over 100,000 Ukrainians have been killed. Tens of thousands have been declared missing in action or presumed dead. The ever-growing threat of a nuclear conflict is edging closer to reality.
Make no mistake: the war between Ukraine and Russia could have been over less than a month after it began. Nearly a year later, countless Ukrainian lives have been needlessly sacrificed for the West. The steadfast dedication to rejecting peace talks makes one thing clear: the Biden administration and NATO want this war to continue indefinitely, without an end in sight.
The West, NATO, and the Biden administration don’t care about Ukraine or Ukrainians. They will gladly sacrifice the entirety of Ukraine if the end result is the “weakening” of Russia and the Kremlin. Their blatant refusal to allow peace between Russia and Ukraine proves it. “Fighting down to the last Ukrainian,” the official policy of the collective West regarding their proxy war in Ukraine isn’t changing course anytime soon, and Ukraine will be utterly destroyed as a result.
My feeling is that this was and is another tentacle of The Great Reset. Putin and Zelinski are just actors playing their perspective roles. Think about how easily Russia could have blitzed its way across Ukraine in a month if they really wanted to. This is all a planned event as are the responses IMHO.
I think eventually NATO will become irrelevant. Does Europe even realize that the U. S. Government is responsible for the collapse of their economy? The United States is responsible for blowing up the Russian pipe line and tried to blame Russia for it! NATO, U.S. and Europe should be very careful about trying to get rid of Putin-could be replaced with someone or something far worse. America never seems to learn from her mistakes. And you’re right , they DO NOT care about the citizens of Ukraine. What a tragedy it has become!
